-Hello my litty odourful friends. As you all may NOT know xp last month was my 20th birthday.Had a nice little evening with some of my besties at my house like drinking and chilling and having nice and cute convos. Got some lil meaningful presents such as a portrait of mine and some good books such as this one up here Perfume the history of a murderer.
Une femme qui connai sa valeur ne mendie pas l'amour
As many of you might have read the Albanian version or the English one, or as well may have seen the film casted by the one BEN WHISHAW, i as well had seen the film years ago but... to be honest the excitement and curiosity and the imagination that books will always tell is incomparable.
So here am i with the english version surffing and floating amongs scents!
-The story takes place in Paris. A notorious murderer is born, Jean-Baptiste-Granouille,who was abandoned in a tinny, disgusting fish market.Raised in an orphanage,he grews up with a superhuman sense of smell. His life was all about scnets of this world and trying to know from another by creating new senses everyday. He soon finds out that a redheaded girl s scent was all he needed. After days of keeping an eye to her, her murder was all he needed by smelling her till it faded.
-Grenouille got an italian s attention one day by delivering to him some goat leather he needed thor his new perfume where as well ended by begging to him to try and finish what Giuseppe Baldini had started and stoppedas well.He revitalizes the perfumer s careerwith new formulas by demanding only that Baldini teach him how to preserve scents. As soon as he did lots of new scents,Baldini asked him to leave and never come back and never tell anybody about it.He left and sooner that night a war took his life and all the scents he kept working for ages.
-Years later, after a 7 year living in a cave into the mountains he finds out he had a lack of smell.Odourlesness!
-Back into town he starts working for a woman called Madame Arnulfi. He kept killing lots of young, virgin girls by pulling off their hairs and by mumifying them and taking off from the all the scents he needed to provide the enflourage method. The last one was Laura Richis which had gone in a mystery trip with her beloved father. But Grenouille followed her scent, waited for he to sleep and the killed her.
-He soon was kept by the soldiers and the day of execution was set.Exactly on that day he applies the perfume on his body. The executioners and the people are all speechless at the beauty of the perfume and they declare Grenouille innocent before they all fell into a masive orgy.
-Exploring another city,he as well had a lot of perfume within himself, enough to rule the whole world but the fact that he couldnt love or be loved didnt help even this time.He gets back to the fish market where he was born, pours the remaining perfume all over his body where the neraby croud devours him by leaving only his dirty clothes all over the place.
- I have not loved this book just only by the overimaginary plot it has.I also have written down some of the cool quotes or ways of prescribing women. (Yey im a woman as well) xp
1)The sea smelled like a sail whose billows had caught up water, salt and a cold sun.It had a simple smell but so immense and unique at the same time.
2)Her sweat smelled as fresh as the sea breeze, the oil in her hair as sweet as nut oil,her genitals were as fragrant as the bouqet of water lilies, her skin as apriccot blossoms...
-and the harmony of all these components yielded a perfume so rich,so balanced,so magical that every perfume he had smelled until now, seemed to be utterly meaningless!
3)Moonlight knew no colors and traced the contours of the terrain only very softly. It covered the land with a dirty grey, strangling life all night long.this world moulded in lead, where nothing moved but the wind that fell sometimes like a shadow over the grey forests and where nothing lived but the scent of naked earth was the only world that he accepted, for it was much like the world of his Soul.
4)She was one of those languid women made of dark honey, smooth and sweet and terribly sticky, who takes control of the room with a syrupy gesture,a toss of the hair,a single slow whiplash of the eyes- and all the while remain as still as the centre of a hurricane, aparently anaware of the force of gravity by which they irrestibly attract to themselves the yearnings and the soul of both MEN & WOMEN!
