Great Expectations (Collins Classics)

                 Charles Dickens- Great expectations

                 Halloa,my faveyys all time.
It was a typical British greeting,as Charles often wrote in this book xp
It took me a lot to finish it... I kinda found it interesting, sometime boring, sometime funnybut  im happy.
Maybe its the fault of my school, (sure it is) why it took me a lot... but it took me a lot maybe also because of the 500 pages and the super, duper small font writing.

Theme- The major theme of this story is the ambition, which you all may see from the title 'Great Expectations'.Some real issues which i found were the greed, envy, pride, arrogance and unkindness.
First lesson i learned from this was that the un-common-ness on the inside is more important than the un-common-ness on the outside.
Second, but not the least is that the contentment and humility and as well the returns to the kindness will always live inside us, even if life doesn't treat us  well.

Mood- Dickens and especially Great Expectations is known as tragicomic and grotesque concept because it is obviously mixed with comedy and tragedy at the same time.
I might say that dark moods dominate the story, with mystery and danger always lurking beyond the next page.
The unknown and the dreades are as well always present, especially at the end of the novel, when grave events and serious complications completely envelop the plot.

Plot-As a young child, the orphan Pip lives with his sister and brother-in-law ,the village Blacksmith. On Christmas eve, Pip gets threatend from a convinct by bringing him food and such other things but in the end the convict  was caught and never showed up.
-Later on,Pip is sent to entertain Miss Havisham,an old lady whom she was jilted in the altar and now lives in a big mansion always dresses with her dressing gown and her weeding cake in the middle of the table. She lived with her adopted girl,Estella, whom Pip fell in love but she was very distant towards him.
-Pip was dissmissed by Miss Havisham and was sent back to his brother in law.He got really discontent until he learns that an anonymous benefactor has left to him a large sum of money. He was sent to London to be trained as a gentleman where he got educated by Ms.Pocket and became good friends with his boy,Herbert.
-Surely his wealth and positions changed him a lot.Estella still was a huge  powerful factor in his life.Even though Estella is treated to break man's hearts and although she warned Pip about this he still loves her to death.
-On his 24th birthday,Pip learns that his benefactor was the convict from long ago.He as well realised he was not appropriate for Estella. He realized he had misstreated his good friend Joey, who was always faithful to him.
-The end of the novel tells how Pip moral education begins.he realised he cannot accept anymore the convict's money. He tries to help Magwitch escape but as well he realised that Estella was her daughter.Estella married to Pip's enemy,Drummle.Miss Havisham died,by leaving a large amount of money to Ms.Pocket as Pip had requested.Estella's husband died and she as well had remarried and Pip realizes that Estella will always be a part of his life as all the other memories of his once great-expectations.

(Polka dots over polka dots xp)

-Sorry if i bothered ya all with the plot...but hey its interesting though!
I would totally recommend this book to  you, especially to the ones who love classical literature (Victorian prose). It may take you ages but its worth it.You need a really peaceful place and a fully set  mind to read it and maybe to re-read it one,two more times.I read somewhere that this story should be read even when you get older so you  gonna have a completely different kind of view and perception of Dickens's conception.... I think i will xp

-This is me being all nerdy xxx
See ya next time with a very interesting and complete different kind of blogpost!
