Milk and Honey

MILK AND HONEY - Rupi Kaur

-Hello my all time and my super marvellous blogreaders!
Hoping all of you are dealing with the cold and rainy November somehow :)
Myself is having a super busy month full of lectures at school, lots of books waiting to slip under my fingers, enjoying my new readers which these last days are increasing in a high numbeeerrrr (yay).
Sorry for not posting last week, but i promise im gonna be more active these days as i have lots of new ideas especially for my lovely blog :)
This week was the Albanian book fair and i guess this is the first 'miracle' that needed to be in my library.
Yey i found Rupi kaur and im super amazed.

-For all of you who may not even know what this book is about:
MILK AND HONEY- is a cute collection of poetry, prose and illustrations about survival.
Rupi Kaur, the indian writter from Punjab,India who emigrated to Canada since she was a small kid and still resides there, decides to write this lovely book including all of her emotions, feminity, loss, love, abuse and violence.

This is the voyage of surviving through poetry,
this is the blood sweat tears,
of a young 21 year old girl,
this is her heart,
in our hands
its the 'the hurting'
'the loving'
'the breaking'
'the healing' !

-This book  will take you,the readers,me as well through a jorney of the most bitter moments in life and its so touchy how we may find the sweetness in them, because it is sweetness everywhere if you are just willing to look :)

-The book itself is split into 4 chapters:
1-THE HURTING-is the voice of a young woman reflecting about her childhood.Through the exploration of trauma experienced through rape and sexual abuse it took me through the motions of what it means to endure in a world that so often tries to swallow you whole.I think this is the most raw and unsettling of the collection.

2-THE LOVING-the focus in the female/male relationships, but from a very different point of view. These poems keep expressing the positive values of being in a relationship with a loving, tender and really sensitive male partner. The overall sensibility of the poems in this chapter is how the speaker realizes that is possible for her to enjoy sex and her body, and that there is reason in that enjoyment.
3-THE BREAKING-keeps focusing on the aftermath of a relationship coming to an end.The primary focus is in the expriences of pain, grief and questioning. You may seem exploration of both loss-longing which means that: trying to self-convince that the relationship is over while at the same time continues to believe that the love that both partners experienced can bring them back together.

4.THE HEALING-The last but not least chapter, the focus stands in the self-value and self-worth.How we tend to keep trying to find the best of what it is inside us and how strong we are and time heals the pain experienced in the past.

-I have read it for about 60 minutes in a bus trip to my hometown, im reading it again btw xp Its so handy, touchy, lovely and i would certainly recommend to everyone.

MIND MY SOCKS :)
