Norwegian Wood

"I once had a girl,or should i say, she once had me...
She showed me her room, isn't it good,
 Norwegian wood" ♪

-So apparently these are the first lyrics of "The Beatles"-Norwegian Wood song.
Kind of 60's most played all over the world and surely Haruki Murakami's fave and inspo!

-Toru,a quiet and preternaturally serious young college student in Tokyo, is devoted to Naoko, a beautiful and introspective young girl, but their  mutual passion is marked by the tragic death of their best friend years before.
Toru begins to adapt to campus life and the loneliness and isolation he faces there, but Naoko find the presssures and responsibilities of life unbearable.
As she retreats further into her own world, Toru finds himself reaching out to others and drawn to a fiercely independent and sexuality liberated young man.

CONCLUSION: A poignant story of one college student's romantic comin-of-age, Norwegian Wood takes us to that distant place of a young man's first, hopeless and heroic love.

-It's been literally one of my fave novels so far and it's exactly this novel which made him famous worldwide.
I just read it for 4 days in total. Every page was madly attractive and sublime.
I may call it a 'hipsterish' type of writing but  once you read it you will inevitably LOVE it!

-See ya next time with many more 'Murakamian' novels.
